I bought this pedal to run thru the clean channel on my amp, a Fender Superchanp XD, and I play mostly on my '66 Epiphone Reissue G-400, with decent Alnico (V) classic Humbucker in the neck and a Classic Plus pup in the bridge, (I think the neck pup is rated near 8kOHms, and the Bridge wound a little hotter at 13kOhms, the standard epiphone g-400 uses the same pups but calls them alnico Vs, anyway I am not here to review the guitar or amp, but ultimately the amp and Pups used play a big role in the sound you get). It seems to do a pretty good job of getting that AC/DC sound, and excels at blues tones, nice bluesy crunch with the gain rolled back, and rolling the volume knob back cleans up the sound beautifully so you can really shape your sound to your liking. Using the saturation mode, you get a more "scooped" metal tone, that is, the mids are "scooped" out, so raise the Low end and lower the highs, and push the gain where you want it, and it will get you some heavily overdriven sounds, but I would not recommend this pedal for someone who is primarily a "metal" player. I play mostly Classic rock, Hard rock, and Blues and this has been able to give me great NON DIGITAL sounding overdrive distortion and great crunch tones. It might take just a bit of sitting down with it to get familiar with all the different sounds you can get out of this stompbox, using different settings on the pedal and the tone and volume on the guitar play a big part in shaping the sound. I also tried running this pedal thru my amps channel 2, which has several hybrid (voiced) amp settings, tweed, blackface, super overdrive, jazz, there's like 14, anyway, I was able to get some great sounds using lighter gain settings on the pedal to boost the sound from the amp, and it worked very well thru the tweed and blackface models(clean and overdriven) adding the pedal to the heavy distortion settings wasn't nearly as good a sound. I hope this review will help someone, and hopefully another Fender Super champ owner, b/c I could find slim to nothing as far as reviews for how this pedal worked with the super champ. You really have to sit down and put this thing thru all the different combinations of settings before you decide on a verdict on whether you like the pedal or not, give it time, tweak your pedal EQ, guitar vol, tone, and explore all those amp settings and combinations if you have a voice in your amp that just needs a little only reason I didn't' give a 5 star rating, is for me, the crunch side is the more "usable" function for MY style of play, and if it were just that side alone, it would be 5 stars, but the saturation mode leaves just a little to be desired, if it had just a bit more "headroom" to really get those "metal" sounds, so if that is what you're really into playing, don't get this pedal thinking it will be a crazy wicked in your face metal pedal. Get it for the great non digital sounds you can get for blues, classic rock or hard rock. All in all, a solid pedal, built to last thru a lifetime of performances, with true bypass and great sound.
