Only one of the DIMMs functioned. I tried various combinations to determine if it was a mobo issue or what. I ran MemTest86 with one DIMM at a time and with the back one in place, the test would not even start. The other DIMM ran fine. Trying both DIMMs, the test sees booth SPDs, but only recognizes 16G of RAM.
With just the one DIMM in place, XMP brought the memory clock speed right up to 3000MHz without any issues. So I can't completely trash the review. I am very happy with the performance of the function DIMM. I am just frustrated that one DIMM is bad. This is not cheap memory.
Update: I contacted Corsair and they replaced the kit. Very responsive and helpful. I contacted customer service and they submitted the service ticket. I got an RMA number a few days later and sent the old memory back and it was replaced with new memory. The only down side is that since the memory was a 2 DIMM kit, I had to return the entire kit which meant the PC was down while the memory was being returned. But the memory shipped very quickly. All in all, very happy now. Move it up from 3 stars to 5 stars.
I can confirm that I am successfully running the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16 Desktop Memory Kit - White (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16W) on a MSI B350 Tomahawk at 3200Mhz. After MSI updated the BIOS on 4/26 I was able to achieve that speed. Before the update, I was able to get it to 2933Mhz. In BIOS I have the speed set to 3200 and the clocks set to 16 18 18 18 36 and the RAM voltage set to AUTO. When I manually set the voltage to it did not work. Anyway, hoping this info is helpful for other buyers and obviously, I'm giving this RAM 5 stars for working as intended with my motherboard.
UPDATE 5/11/17: I have lowered the speed to 2933Mhz. Several memory tests I ran were showing errors when running at 3200Mhz whereas the 2933Mhz is error free. I am running the latest BIOS (B350 TOMAHAWK (MS-7A34) BIOS Release). Will retest at a higher speed when new BIOS updates come out.
