Leaving a review in case this helps someone else make a purchasing decision because I lost my Sony Cam with this mount while surfing on a small day. The Sony cam in general is prone to sliding out of it's attachment point when it's wet and the case in general is not very robust with just a flimsy bottom latch. The setup has a high narrow profile on the board making any waves hitting it laterally pretty harsh. Also, the footprint of this mount is HUGE and ugly on your board, it's the size of an adult hand. In my experience it is not suitable for the abuse of surfing which was disappointing because the footage the Sony shot was great, with a caveat that the spherical shape of the lens seemed to always cause a big drop of water to be resting right in the middle of the scene ruining the footage. If I still had the camera I would use zip ties with the leash attachment, and one trick I found worked was adding grains of rice inside the case to prevent the whole thing fogging up. I think Sony has a lot of work to do to get it's action cams ready to be on surf boards. The positive of this mount is it caused no damage when I removed it
