What a great product Korg has come up with in the Rimpitch C! It securely (yet not too tightly) fits all my acoustic guitars. The housing is small enough that it doesn't touch any of the internal bracing, and can be rotated to any position around the sound hole (except at the neck). This allayed my concern that I might dislodge the tuner while strumming. I placed mine under the strings in front of the bridge, where neither my fingers, nor picks can reach it, yet the indicators are easily seen at a glance.
The LED's are very bright and easy to visually acquire, and the in-tune/out of tune indication is quick and positive. Just to be sure I checked the tuner against my Korg TM 50 tuner, which has cents indicators and is accurate to 1 cent. The Rimpitch C is very accurate and I had no trouble verifying this with the chords I use to check intonation at various places on the neck. No more twisting my clip-on tuners (or my neck for that matter) trying to get tuned up on stage. More than once I've lost a Snark while trying to tune between songs due to the ball & socket joint that most clip-on tuners have, coming apart in my haste. The Rimpitch design makes turning on and off a worry-free, one-touch action. Rather than having to pinch the tuner between thumb and forefinger to keep it from moving out of position, a simple push of the high-quality button and you're ready to go.
Aside from the ease-of-use and accuracy of the Rimpitch, I was also impressed with its high-quality feel and appearance. For example, the battery door has a release-switch, and is on a hinge (no more picking up dropped battery-door covers). Nice touch. The other factor that convinced me to choose a Rimpitch was a You Tube review by Scott Grove. He asserts that a pickup nearer the sound hole is more accurate than one at the head stock. In particular, he states that head stock-tuners are flat by 10 cents or more. I verified this for myself by clipping my Snark SN-1 to the sound hole and the head stock; sure enough it read sharp at the sound hole and flat at the head stock. The advantage of a more accurate reading at the sound hole, is that guitars are easily tuned too sharp for other instruments (especially the piano) and a flat indication at the head stock results in over-sharpening. Ironically, you then have to alter you tuning from the tuner to get things sounding neutral.
I've been impressed with Korg tuners since I bought my TM-50 because it is as accurate as my ears, which I have trained to detect minute changes in pitch over the years. I used to only use an electronic tuner to get close, and then used my ears to fine-tune the rest of the way. But, the Korg tuners, both the TM-50 and now the Rimpitch allow me to rely upon their accuracy (though I still double-check out of habit and because open tuning is not necessarily accurate as you ascend the neck towards the bridge. All I can say to Korg is "IMPRESSIVE" and MANY THANKS!

High-brightness LEDs are used for the tuning meter and for the string name indicator, ensuring excellent visibility even on a dimly-lit stage.

I'll be attempting to return. Korg mentions the sound-hole diameter of 100mm+-3mm, but neglect to mention the thickness. I have an Ovation Custom Balladeer and the thickness of the body/top, with the pick-guard inlay, are too thick for this tuner to attach. Also, they mention that only rubber will touch your guitar, but there are metal (clamps is too strong a word, they are quite flimsy) braces that pop out of the rubber covering and will definitely come in contact with your guitar body if you're not very careful putting it on. The previous version of this tuner had black rubber instead of the beige. Now that I've seen it, I probably would not leave this on my guitar as the beige that is visible is quite unattractive.
As I could not get the tuner to install properly, I decided not to put in the battery and do any further tests. I'm hoping to be able to return this item without charge as it will not work for me. However, if Korg makes another version suitable for a slightly thicker sound-hole and black rubber I will try it I still think this is the type of tuner I'm looking for.
