Two things, starting with shipping: the item as described was supposed to be in "new" condition, but was clearly heavily used before being sent to my doorstep. The item packaging was dented, though the shipping container Amazon used was not, leading me to believe the seller put it in the box in that condition. Nearly every section of the stand had some form of scuff damage or abrasion on it, from the base stand, up the pillars, and onto the headphone rest. Not thrilled paying 'new' prices and getting an obviously used product.
HOWEVER, Amazon's customer service department was wonderful (as it always, always is) and sent me a replacement right away at no cost. I don't know with 100% certainty the internal situation at the warehouse and if damage to the product occurred on Amazon or the seller's end, though I have my guesses, so i'll leave my seller feedback review as is until corrected.
If you don't care about that drama, here's my review of the actual headstand-
The item is very nice. The entire product is made of sturdy, relatively dense/heavy material that instills confidence in its manufacturing and ability to hold up well over time. It looks like brushed aluminum. There's very little chance this thing would topple over from the weight of headphones. Underneath the base is a rubber-like substance in a complete circle that provides both grip for the stand and protection for whatever surface you set it on. While $50 is a bit expensive, I'm satisfied that the money went to creating a well-made piece of equipment. Looks great.
TL;DR 1 star for seller sending me a used product labeled "new," 5 stars for Amazon's customer service, and 5 stars for the actual stand (minus damage). Great product, great experience with Amazon, bad bad feeling about seller (i'll edit this if I find out better information about the packaging issue).
Im gonna start this review by stating that I did read a few reviews here that say its over priced, yes, the idea of something holding your headphones for 50 dollars may sound much, but lets be honest here, not everyone buys headphones that cost less than this stand. I dont have the most expensive headphones or anything either, but for me, its all about the look. I function better with a clean environment and this product does more than just clean, its made with such precision and looks absolutely And its not so much about what the product is, but the craftsmanship that went into such a product, and once you open this up, youll be perfectly fine having spent 50 dollars.
Even the way it is packaged is People need to understand that all these things cost money, if someone was making these in his basement i would still pay the asking price just because of how well it is made, but there are a lot of costs in manufacturing something of this I would recommend this to anyone and Just Mobile has now officially made it on to my list of companies to watch out They have some very interesting prodcuts that I cant wait to save up for and just wish they did more for other companies as well and not just make things for apple
In the end all i can say is that everyone who has seen this headphone stand has given me compliments for it. and that says a I love this product, and cant find a single fault.
The HeadStand is a simple product with a simple purpose: keeping your headphones tidy and at the ready, while at the same time showcasing them with class. The quality is top notch, with precise aluminum parts that especially complement Apple products. The stand feels very solid once assembled, and the bottom rubber pad keeps it from sliding around or scratching surfaces. There's not much else to say--it's basically a glorified hook. But it's certainly one of the better-looking headphone stands available, and it isn't even the most expensive one out there.
One minor thing to keep in mind is that if your headphones use a coiled cable, you won't be able to wrap it around the base. The spacing between the plates is just 5/16", so only straight cords will fit. However, the hook is large enough that coiled cables can be hung over it alongside the headphones. I use my stand with a pair of Sony MDR-V6s which have a coiled cable, and the setup looks fine.
